The Forrestfield Airport Link  twin tunnel project is a joint venture between Salini-Impregilo, of Italy with Australian company NRW for the Western Australian Government.

The project consists of twin – 7.1metre Herrenknecht variable density TBM’s each 130 metres long and weighing 600 tonnes capable of operating at a maximum pressure of 4bar, tunnelling approximately 16km.

Travelling from Forrestfield, under the fully operational Perth International Airport through to Bayswater.

The project includes the construction of new railway stations at Forrestfield, Airport Central and Belmont.

Expected completion 2020.
